Try a visibility practice

The more visible I am, the more money I make.

I’ve been inspired by this quote that I found scribbled in an old notebook recently. (Unfortunately I didn’t attribute it to anyone, but it feels like Ray Dodd to me).

It’s given me a new perspective on marketing. Here’s why:

Marketing is hard, for a lot of reasons.

Whether you are:

→ Uncomfortable putting yourself out there because you learned that taking up space and talking about yourself and money is bad

→ Feeling unskilled

→ Overwhelmed by limitless possibilities and constantly shifting expectations

→ Intimidated by “marketing” because it just feels too big and too vague for your brain

It's no wonder you end up frozen, not doing the things you know are going to make money and grow your business.

Enter the visibility practice.

“Practice” implies that you don’t have to be perfect, while also implying a sense of consistency - but without prescribing a cadence so you can figure out what works best for you.

And there are so many ways that you can be visible in your business, with varying degrees of time and energy investment to attract, connect with, convert and delight clients and customers.

If you’ve been overwhelmed by marketing, what if you scratched it off your to-do list and created a visibility practice instead?

Ask yourself:

“How can I be visible in my business today/this week/this month/this quarter?”

Eventually those seemingly small actions will add up and before you know it you've been consistently marketing your business. You'll be more visible, and you'll make more money.
