Spring Cleaning Your Creative Small Business Marketing
At long last, it really and truly feels like spring (even if I’m not naive enough to believe it won’t snow one more time)!
If you’re feeling the spring energy and you’re itching to do some literal and metaphorical spring cleaning, here are a few ideas for getting your creative small business marketing and communications in tip top shape!
If you have < 10 minutes, pick one:
Check for broken links on your website
Update your pinned posts/bio links! Is that workshop you led three months ago still hanging out there?
Update your email signature with a link to your current offer
Update the announcement bar on your website
Check on your zaps/automations to make sure they’re working!
Cancel any subscriptions you’re not using and unsubscribe from emails you’re not opening any more
And while you’re at it, unfollow anyone who makes you feel crappy but you feel compelled to follow “for research”
Close. Those. Tabs.
Update your availability on your scheduler app
If you’re up for a project:
Create a media page to highlight podcast interviews, press mentions or collaborations. I love a podcast playlist!
Run a re-engagement campaign to revive and scrub any cold subscribers from your email list
Draft your AI policy.
Post your best performing newsletters as blogs (literally what I did with this one)
Refresh your task manager clearing out stale tasks, archiving projects and adding anything new that hasn’t been captured yet
Take your business on a data date to look at your analytics
A/B test a subject line, button place or call to action
Source a fresh batch of testimonials
Do a mini audit on your marketing funnel
Make sure any automated email sequences are up-to-date, relevant and still working
Audit your website and remove or update links or references to outdated offers or events
Follow-up with any sales conversations that may have fizzled out (try The Magic Email if you’re feeling bold!)
Any lingering task that you’ve been avoiding for awhile now!
Work with Slow & Steady on your spring cleaning:
The fresh energy of spring and a new season is a great opportunity to audit where you’ve been so far this year and plot out the next 90 days in your business.
Book a Strategy Roadmap session or get on the waitlist for the next Decelerator small group cohort!
